SpaceX Headquarters [Reuters=Yonhap News]
Elon Musk's space company SpaceX has attracted investment demand of $150 billion (approximately 234 trillion won), double its initial public offering (IPO) target size, ahead of its largest-ever IPO, Reuters reported on the 5th (local time).
According to sources, while a 2x subscription rate is not unusual for most IPOs, it is a very impressive figure considering SpaceX's listing will be the largest ever. SpaceX plans to raise $75 billion through this IPO.
Bloomberg also reported that SpaceX's IPO was oversubscribed.
However, the current figures are not final demand results and may change until the offering price is determined next week, as some large institutional investors often submit orders late in the IPO process.
Ahead of its IPO, SpaceX convinced investors during its investor roadshow that this IPO is a gateway to a new market worth trillions of dollars through its space launch, internet connectivity, and AI businesses.
SpaceX emphasized that "by dramatically reducing the cost of accessing space, we can expand the scope of our mission to solve Earth's most pressing challenges."
SpaceX, considered a "big fish" for an unprecedented IPO, will be listed on Nasdaq on the 12th. Its market valuation is estimated to be $1.75 trillion.
