The true right-wing new party, Freedom and Innovation, has publicly urged election management committee (EMC) employees to come forward with internal whistleblower testimonies related to the June 3rd local elections.

In a statement released on the 8th, Freedom and Innovation stated, "The claim that there were not enough ballots in the June 3rd local elections is impossible, as anyone in charge of election operations within the EMC would know better than anyone else," urging an investigation into the truth. The party emphasized, "Now that the EMC is the focus of national attention, it is time for conscience declarations to emerge from within the organization."

Freedom and Innovation presented survey results conducted by the Election Management Innovation Committee following the controversy over the so-called 'basket voting' during COVID-19. In that survey, 71.6% of EMC employees responded that the current state of the organization was "desperate," while only 6% responded that it was "hopeful." Freedom and Innovation argued, "This figure shows that more than two-thirds of EMC employees perceive the organization's problems as serious."

Freedom and Innovation also cited cases where the National Intelligence Service conducts polygraph tests on employees returning from overseas assignments, regardless of whether they are suspected of any wrongdoing, stating that "if problems are confirmed within the EMC, polygraph examinations for all employees will be unavoidable."

The party defined the matter as "a grave issue that shakes the foundation of the nation's free democratic system."

The party also pointed out that the EMC has a system in place to provide legal defense costs for employees who have been accused or indicted through Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, raising questions about whether such support can be appropriately provided in the current situation.

Freedom and Innovation stated that if conscientious whistleblowers come forward, it "will greatly reduce the national resources and costs required to grasp the full picture of election manipulation," and expressed its commitment to protecting whistleblowers.

The party recommended the use of Proton Mail, which allows for the creation of email accounts without revealing the user's identity and whose sending and receiving processes are encrypted, making IP tracking impossible. They advised creating and submitting emails from home or internet cafes instead of using workplace computers.

The party added, "We will provide maximum support through our own lawyers so that whistleblowers can be fully considered in subsequent legal proceedings." The whistleblower email address is tosavekorea@proton.me.
