Lawmakers Kim Do-eup, Jeong Jeong-sik, and Seong Il-jong (in order of their nomination) who are running in the People Power Party's next floor leader election will attend a forum hosted by the party's first- and second-term lawmakers on the 9th.

According to party officials, Rep. Park Sang-woong, head of the People Power Party's freshman lawmakers' group, and Rep. Um Tae-young, head of the sophomore lawmakers' group, will hold a "Meeting with Floor Leader Candidates Hosted Jointly by Freshman and Sophomore Lawmakers" at 2 p.m. on the same day in the main building of the National Assembly.

It is reported that most of the People Power Party's freshman and sophomore lawmakers, excluding those currently abroad, will attend the meeting along with the three candidates. The People Power Party has 46 freshman lawmakers and 30 sophomore lawmakers.

At the meeting, there will be common questions regarding the evaluation of the June 3 local elections and analysis of the causes of the defeat, the future party innovation roadmap, plans to regain support from the Seoul metropolitan area and younger voters, and strategies for parliamentary struggle against the Democratic Party of Korea and the Lee Jae-myung administration. There will also be free questioning from the freshman and sophomore lawmakers.

Meanwhile, the People Power Party will hold a general meeting of its lawmakers on the 10th to elect its next floor leader. (Yonhap News)
