This is 82 days after President Lee took office on June 4th.

President Lee is scheduled to visit the United States from the 24th to the 26th at the invitation of President Trump, as announced by Presidential Office Spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung during a briefing.

This visit will be in the form of a working visit, during which President Lee will hold a summit with President Trump at the White House and have a working lunch. First Lady Kim Hye-kyung will also accompany him.

Spokesperson Kang stated, "The two leaders are expected to discuss measures to develop the ROK-US alliance into a future-oriented comprehensive strategic alliance in response to the changing international security and economic environment. While further strengthening the robust ROK-US combined defense posture, they will also discuss cooperation measures for peace building and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula."

She added, "Based on the recently concluded tariff negotiations, they will also discuss measures to strengthen economic cooperation, including manufacturing sectors such as semiconductors, batteries, and shipbuilding, as well as economic security partnerships in advanced technology and critical minerals."
