The Ministry of Justice recently released footage of President Yoon Suk-yeol's solitary confinement cell to refute allegations circulating online that he was receiving preferential treatment by using three connected rooms by himself.

The interior of the solitary confinement cell, revealed for the first time, measured 6.76㎡, a size just large enough for an adult to lie down, and had the same structure as a standard solitary cell. The facilities inside consisted of one fluorescent light, one fan, and a toilet bowl at the front, with meals served through a steel door slot.

Furthermore, to ensure the safety of the occupant, a collapsible cardboard table and plastic cutlery were provided.

The Ministry of Justice refuted allegations such as "two inmates in charge of cleaning the detention building exclusively serving President Yoon" or "providing him with a laptop," stating, "These claims are entirely untrue." This marks the first time the actual solitary confinement cells within a detention center have been publicly disclosed.
