South Koreans continued their resistance on Thursday, protesting alleged election fraud and demanding a "re-election" following ballot shortages at some polling stations during nationwide local elections held on June 3rd (Korean time), as reported by The Just The News, a prominent conservative media outlet in the United States.

The Just The News has also extensively reported on issues of election fraud in the U.S., asserting that election fraud is a reality and consistently highlighting the efforts of the Trump camp to combat it.

As ballot shortages occurred at approximately 90 polling stations, particularly in strongly conservative regions, during the June 3rd local elections, protesters poured into the streets across the nation, including in Seoul.

Protesters, largely composed of young people in their 20s and 30s, were seen holding picket signs, receiving bottled water from volunteers, waving Korean and U.S. flags, and shouting slogans such as "Election manipulation, conduct re-election."

Lee Jae-myung expressed "deep regret" over the ballot shortage situation on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, pointing out that the explanation from the National Election Commission was "insufficient." Lee Jae-myung also ordered a joint investigation team of prosecutors and police to look into the incident.

However, as of Thursday, there were no signs of the election results being invalidated or a "re-election" being held as demanded by the public's resistance, The Just The News diagnosed.

Som-yeong Kim, a 25-year-old graduate student at Kyung Hee University, stated in relation to the initial resistance, "We can no longer passively watch the concerns surrounding Korea's elections and democracy," explaining her reason for going to Olympic Park, where the ballot boxes were transported.

She added, "There were more participants in their 20s and 30s than expected," and "They demanded thorough investigations into the fairness of the election and suspicions while waving the Taegeukgi (Korean flag)." Meanwhile, she noted that a small number of participants were gathered in another area of the venue, holding a Christian worship service.

Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the People Power Party, stated in an exclusive statement sent to 'The Just The News,' "This is not a temporary resistance. It is a voluntary and grassroots awakening that began on June 4th and is not backing down." Representative Jang is one of the individuals demanding not only a re-election but also a parliamentary inquiry and a special prosecutor unrelated to the ruling party.

The Just The News reported that at least seven people sustained minor injuries in relation to the weekend's protests.

The Just The News reported that the ballot shortage, initially reported at 50 polling stations as of Saturday, was confirmed by the National Election Commission (NEC) to have occurred at at least 91 polling stations. The number of polling stations where voting was temporarily suspended also increased from 22 to 26, and the NEC did not respond to requests for comment.

However, the controversy grew larger as it was later confirmed that the ballot shortage affected 137 polling stations, as previously known.

In Korea's gubernatorial and mayoral elections, the Democratic Party of Korea secured victories in 12 out of 16 races, while the opposition People Power Party retained the mayoral positions in Seoul and Daegu.

Furthermore, in terms of National Assembly seats, the Democratic Party of Korea decreased by four seats from 165 to 161, while the People Power Party increased by three seats from 107 to 110. The election commission claims that Han Dong-hoon was elected as an independent.
