'Oldaark' Ms. A is holding onto the handball stadium door, blocking the entry of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and the police. [Photo=Yonhap News]
A woman who single-handedly blocked the forced entry of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and police into the Olympic Park (Ollgong) handball stadium office will be investigated by the police.
The Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced on the 17th that it plans to launch an investigation into Ms. A, who had been blocking the entry of sports organizations at the entrance of the handball stadium, which served as the 'Jamsil Counting Station', the previous day.
On the 16th, when the Sport & Olympic Committee and the police attempted to forcibly enter the counting station at the Olympic Park handball stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, Ms. A resisted by holding onto the stadium door for about two hours.
This incident occurred after Lee Jae-myung, who had gone abroad while the public's right to participate was being deprived, effectively ordered the dissolution, and the Sport & Olympic Committee and the police attempted to enter the counting station, where the election had not yet concluded, using force without a warrant.
Although Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, and others attempted to persuade her, Ms. A did not back down, stating that the preservation procedures for the ballots and ballot boxes within the counting station must be carried out first, and the forced entry was ultimately thwarted.
Subsequently, Ms. A, who single-handedly blocked entry to the counting station, is being called 'Jandark of Olympic Park (Oldaark)' among netizens.
Ms. A left the scene with the police after the sports organizations and the People Power Party gave up on entering the counting station the previous day, and she was not present at the Jamsil site as of the morning.
Given that the police have stated they will sternly deal with any damages incurred by sports organizations, some expect charges such as 'obstruction of business' to be applied. In response, a police official stated, "We cannot disclose specific details."
Meanwhile, Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty and Innovation Party, who accompanied lawyer Park Joo-hyun to the United States on the 15th to raise awareness about election fraud in Korea, stated on Facebook, "The police are planning to investigate a fellow patriot who blocked the police's unauthorized entry into the counting station. What did she do wrong? I will provide pro bono legal defense. Other lawyers will join me."
