(Moscow=Yonhap News) Correspondent Choi In-young = Russian news agency TASS reported on the 12th (local time) that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will not attend the summit in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
TASS, citing multiple sources, stated that President Zelensky's visit to Alaska is not expected.
One source said, "It seems he will not be invited." Another source said, "The United States will not hinder the possibility of positive outcomes from the meeting between President Putin and President Trump," indicating that President Zelensky would not be invited.
Presidents Trump and Putin are scheduled to meet in Alaska on the 15th, with a focus on discussing the end of the war in Ukraine.
President Trump mentioned to reporters the previous day that a meeting between President Zelensky and President Putin, or a meeting involving himself, President Putin, and President Zelensky, would take place after his meeting with President Putin.
