Launch of The Korea Signal, a specialized media outlet for Korea-US policy and security analysis

News & Post (NNP), established in March 2011 and providing online news services for over 15 years, has launched "The Korea Signal," a specialized media outlet for Korea-US policy and security analysis, on June 15, 2026.

The Korea Signal will feature Jin Cummings, a well-known policy columnist, as Co-Editor and Senior Columnist, and Lee Hyun-seung, Chairman of the Assembly of North Korean Youth Leaders and a strategist from North Korea active in Washington D.C., will also join as Director of External Cooperation.

The Korea Signal is a specialized policy analysis media outlet for Korea-US relations, launched based on News & Post's accumulated experience in media operations, digital broadcasting infrastructure, the Korean-American reader base, and its political and current affairs analysis capabilities.

The Korea Signal is a policy-focused journal that analyzes issues requiring the attention of policymakers in Korea and the United States, focusing on the Korea-US alliance, the North Korean nuclear issue, the expanding influence of the Chinese Communist Party, Indo-Pacific security, supply chain realignment, and issues of liberal democracy and the rule of law, delivering these analyses directly to the U.S. Congress and political circles.

Today, South Korea faces the influence of the Chinese Communist Party beyond the Korean Peninsula due to its geopolitical importance and has the contemporary task of growing into a reliable ally of the United States in the Indo-Pacific security environment.

However, it is a fact that political, social, and security issues discussed in the Korean-speaking world have not been adequately conveyed to U.S. policymakers. Conversely, issues concerning the Korean Peninsula as viewed by Washington policymakers, congressional officials, and think tank leaders have also not been accurately conveyed to Korea in their proper context.

The Korea Signal aims to bridge this gap.

The Korea Signal, featuring content in both English and Korean, updates its analytical articles on the first and third Mondays of each month. The print magazine will be distributed to U.S. congressional offices and policy stakeholders, conveying the true aspects of Korea to Washington that mainstream media has not been able to. It will also serve to deliver deep insights from Washington to Korea.

The inaugural issue includes contributions and interviews from Fred Fleitz, Vice Chairman of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) and former Chief of Staff of the National Security Council (NSC) under the Trump administration, Robert Joseph, former Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, Ri Jong-ho, former senior economic manager of North Korea's Party 39 Office, and Song Jin-ho, lawyer for President Yoon Suk-yeol.
