  • "At least 4 drones launched… 1 hit a cargo ship, and we shot down the remaining 3."
  • Time not specified… could be a reference to the container ship attack in Singapore that occurred the previous day

President TrumpPresident Trump [AP=Yonhap News File Photo]U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Iran on the 26th (local time), stating that its launch of attack drones at vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz was a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

President Trump stated on the social media platform Truth Social that day, "Iran launched at least four one-way attack drones at vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz."

Regarding the extent of the damage, he said, "One of the drones struck a very expensive cargo ship, hitting the upper deck. Damage occurred, but the ship was able to continue its voyage." He further added, "We shot down the remaining three drones."

He pointed out, "This is clearly a foolish violation of the ceasefire agreement."

The previous day at dawn, Iran attacked the Singapore-flagged container ship 'Everbless' as it attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. While some damage was reported, there were no casualties.

President Trump did not specify the exact time the drone attack occurred on Truth Social. While it appears to refer to the attack on the Everbless, it has not been confirmed whether any additional separate attacks took place.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the end of hostilities previously signed between the U.S. and Iran stipulates the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts.
