A Korean-language exhibition space will be established on the SS Lane Victory, the ship that saved the lives of some 7,000 refugees during the Hungnam Evacuation of the Korean War, to commemorate the historical events of that time.

The United Korean-American Alliance (UKAA) announced on the 27th (local time) that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II - Lane Victory to curate a permanent Korean-language exhibition aboard the SS Lane Victory, which is currently docked at the Port of San Pedro in California.

Under this agreement, oral histories and photographs from Hungnam Evacuation survivors and war veterans will be collected, and a team of approximately 50 Korean Americans and Korean youths will be responsible for the planning, research, and production of the exhibition.

The exhibition is scheduled to open to the public on September 25 next year.

The United Korean-American Alliance is a private organization established primarily by Korean War veterans from both South Korea and the United States.
