Public backlash against "distorted reporting" is surging on social media.

On the 2nd, a man in his 60s who knelt to block members of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Investigation (Special Investigation Committee) from entering the Jamsil vote-counting center without a warrant has been arrested.
On the afternoon of the 4th, the Seoul Eastern District Court conducted a pre-trial detention hearing (warrant validity review) for the individual, identified as A, and issued an arrest warrant that night, citing a "risk of flight." Previously, the police had applied for a warrant for A, and the prosecution accepted the request and filed it with the court.
As a result, A will now face legal proceedings to prove his innocence while in custody, signaling an intense upcoming legal battle.
According to Yonhap News, the charge applied by the police against A is obstruction of justice.
However, under current law, vote-counting centers cannot be entered arbitrarily without a court-issued warrant, leading to growing public opinion online that the police’s use of force may ultimately violate existing laws.
In particular, observers note that A claims his attempt to stop the Special Investigation Committee was to prevent the tampering of ballot boxes suspected of containing fraudulent ballots. There is also speculation that if evidence of election fraud is clearly revealed in the future and the National Assembly loses its legitimacy, A's actions on that day may be re-evaluated.
At the same time, there is talk of potential criminal complaints against the judge who issued the warrant and the prosecutors and police who requested and applied for it, charging them with "legal distortion."
Amidst significant public support for A, there is a flood of criticism against KBS, which aired a video edited to make it look as if A had charged at the police, using the narration "some participants lunged at the committee members," while omitting the footage of A kneeling.
Comments include: "The Nepalese destroyed the broadcasting stations first," "Reporters should look forward to it," "Media outlets justify violence by turning kneeling into lunging," "The country is collapsing due to media agitation," and "Once this regime ends, we must truly clear out the deep-rooted evils."
However, those who are interested in and supporting the cause of the "Jamsil Resistance" are consistently urging people not to engage in violence or disturbances, emphasizing that citizens' demands must be pursued through "non-violent and peaceful methods."
Prior to this, citizens were shocked by videos shared on social media on the 2nd showing police dragging patriotic citizens out of Gate 2-2 at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium without a warrant, ahead of the Special Investigation Committee's entry.
