Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, issued a stern warning of retaliation on the 10th (local time), directly targeting Israel over attacks aimed at the nation’s infrastructure.

According to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, Zolghadr stated in a declaration that day, "As we have repeatedly stated, any attack on our infrastructure will inevitably face retaliation," adding, "The brazen Zionist regime (Israel) behind such acts of aggression will by no means be able to escape the response of our warriors."

This appears to be a preemptive warning aimed at Israeli leadership, who have stated they are ready to participate in an offensive should a full-scale war with Iran resume.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated the previous day that "the Israel Defense Forces are maintaining a high state of alert and are fully prepared to resume military operations against Iran."

Katz further emphasized, "Our military is prepared to carry out a third 'Blue and White Airstrike' (Israel's independent air operation) if necessary to restore air superiority and neutralize threats."

Meanwhile, when a military base on the outskirts of Bushehr in southern Iran was struck the previous day—the third day of armed conflict between the U.S. and Iran—Ehsan Jahanian, the Deputy Governor for Political and Security Affairs of Bushehr Province, stated that the military base had been targeted by projectiles fired by the joint U.S.-Israeli enemy.

However, the United States did not confirm that it was the entity behind that particular attack.

Consequently, some have speculated that Israel is already intervening in the ongoing armed conflict between the U.S. and Iran.

Furthermore, Secretary Zolghadr fiercely criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for disparaging the behavior of mourners during the funeral of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

He remarked, "The most despicable person in the world has once again spewed reckless remarks toward the great Iranian people who have risen in grief," adding, "He is enraged by the magnificent and historic narrative that the people demonstrated during the funeral procession of their respected leader."

Previously, President Trump said in an interview, "One shot (could take out the people gathered at the funeral), but we don't do that because there would be no one left to negotiate with," adding, "I was surprised to see Iranians crying at the funeral. I thought the people hated Khamenei. Perhaps they were fake tears."
