A Ryanair flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a window on a Boeing 737 aircraft blew out, leaving a passenger seated next to it injured. 

The aircraft took off from Thessaloniki Airport in Greece early Friday morning. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the pilots turned the plane around once it reached an altitude of 16,000 feet. 

Footage of the incident posted by 'Malta Today' shows passengers wearing oxygen masks as strong winds rush into the cabin. The video pans to the passenger who was seated next to the blown-out window. 

According to the Wall Street Journal, the passenger is a 61-year-old Serbian national. He was wearing his seatbelt when the window blew out, but was partially sucked through the opening. His wife grabbed his legs, and with the help of other passengers, they were able to pull him back into the cabin. 

The man survived and received emergency treatment from paramedics at the airport.
