U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that he would completely destroy Iran if the country attempts to assassinate him.

In a post on Truth Social on the 10th (local time), President Trump stated, "If the Iranian government follows through on its repeated public threats to assassinate or attempt to assassinate a sitting U.S. president—namely me—1,000 missiles are already targeted and loaded for Iran, with thousands more to immediately follow."

He added, "The orders have already been given, and the U.S. military is ready, willing, and able to completely decimate and destroy the entirety of Iran for one year, with the possibility of extension if necessary."

He concluded the post by saying, "PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!"

President Trump had previously claimed on the 8th that he is "at the top of Iran's assassination list."

After concluding the NATO summit, Trump switched to a different private plane while returning to the U.S. from Turkey, leading to speculation that the move was a precaution against assassination threats from Iran.

Earlier that day, President Trump officially declared an end to the ceasefire with Iran.

With merchant vessel attacks in the Strait of Hormuz followed by U.S. retaliatory airstrikes, the ceasefire regime between the two nations is on the brink of collapse.
