(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporters Park Jae-hyun and Lee Bal-eum = The Jo Eun-seok sedition investigation team, which is investigating the allegations of sedition and foreign exchange related to the 12.3 State of Emergency Martial Law, has moved to secure the person of former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
The special prosecutor's team announced on the 24th that it had requested an arrest warrant for former Prime Minister Han on charges of aiding and abetting sedition, perjury, falsification of public documents, and destruction of public documents.
Former Prime Minister Han is accused of failing to prevent and aiding the illegal declaration of a state of emergency by former President Yoon last year, as he was the Prime Minister with the responsibility to check the President's unilateral actions and serve as the 'First State Institution'.
He is also accused of creating and destroying a post-declaration document to supplement the legal flaws of the initial martial law declaration.
The arrest warrant also stated the charge of perjury before the Constitutional Court and the National Assembly, stating that he was not aware of the martial law declaration.
The special prosecutor's team secured relevant materials by searching the residence of former Prime Minister Han and the Prime Minister's official residence on the 24th of last month. Prior to and after the search, former Prime Minister Han was summoned three times to confirm the overall allegations.
