U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized that if NATO member states joined in imposing 50-100% tariffs on China, the Russia-Ukraine war, initiated by Joe Biden, could be ended. / Yonhap
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 13th (local time), "If all member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) impose tariffs of 50-100% on China, the Russia-Ukraine war can be ended," hinting at the deeper meaning behind the U.S.'s aggressive tariff policy.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on the same day, Trump stressed, "China has strong control, even dominance, over Russia, and imposing such strong tariffs would help break China's dominance."
Having employed various strategies to suppress China's brutal hegemony, he ordered specific measures, saying, "I urge NATO as a whole to pursue a plan to completely withdraw (tariffs imposed on China) after the Russia-Ukraine war ends."
Trump further pledged that if NATO member states weaken China's dominance over Russia and join in strong sanctions, including directly ceasing the purchase of Russian crude oil, the U.S. would also participate.
He then pointed out, "NATO's will to win has been far less than 100%, and it is shocking that some countries continue to buy Russian crude oil. This greatly diminishes their negotiating power and standing against Russia."
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, he reiterated his previous stance, stating, "This is not Trump's war, but Biden and Zelensky's war."
President Trump offered poignant advice, saying, "I am only here to stop the war and save the lives of thousands of Russians and Ukrainians. If NATO follows my words, the war will end swiftly and all lives can be saved, but if they do not, it will only be a waste of my time, America's time, energy, and money."
