It was found that Korean smartphone users install an average of 2 OTT (Online Video Service) apps per person, while using an average of 0.7 OTT apps.

WiseApp·Retail, a market analysis solution based on real-time app and payment data, announced the results of a sample survey on OTT app installation and usage as of August 2025 on the 17th.

The average number of OTT apps used by major OTT app users was found to be 1.6, indicating a tendency for users to subscribe to multiple services rather than just one when using OTT apps.

The average number of OTT apps installed and used per smartphone user has shown an increasing trend for two consecutive years.

Two years ago, in August 2023, it was surveyed that users installed an average of 1.5 OTT apps per person and used 0.6.

This survey was conducted by WiseApp·Retail as a sample survey targeting Korean Android and iOS smartphone users. The major OTT apps surveyed included Netflix, Coupang Play, TVING, Wavve, Disney+, U+mobiletv, and Laftel. Yonhap News
