Former National Intelligence Agency Commander Noh Sang-won, who was arrested on charges of involvement in the planning of the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law,' is being transferred to the prosecution on the morning of the 24th at the Seoul Western Police Station in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. The trial for the case in which special prosecutor Jo Eun-seok, investigating the rebellion and foreign exchange case related to the December 3 emergency martial law, additionally indicted former National Intelligence Agency Commander Noh Sang-won will conclude in November.

The Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Division 21 (Presiding Judge Lee Hyun-bok) held the fifth hearing on the 23rd for Noh's alleged violations of the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (solicitation and receipt of bribes), stating, "We will proceed with the final closing arguments on November 17th and conclude the trial."

The court plans to hear the prosecution's sentencing request and the defendant's final statement on that day.

In addition, the court announced that it will hold five more hearings before the closing arguments to complete witness examinations and evidence investigations.

Former Information Agency Central Newspaper Unit Commander Kim Bong-gyu (Colonel) and Army 2nd Armored Brigade Commander Gu Sam-hoe (Brigadier General) will appear twice for witness examinations in relation to this case.

Colonel Kim appeared as a witness in August regarding violations of the Personal Information Protection Act, and Brigadier General Gu is scheduled for witness examination on October 15th.

The court has decided to summon them once more on October 29th to hear testimony related to the charges of solicitation and receipt of bribes.

Previously, the court had stated that for the efficiency of the proceedings and the convenience of both parties, it would conduct the evidence investigation for the Personal Information Protection Act violation case first, and then sequentially proceed with the solicitation and receipt of bribes case.

Former Commander Noh is accused of receiving military information, including personal details of Information Agency personnel, from former Information Agency Commander Moon Sang-ho and others to form a 'Second Investigation Unit' to investigate allegations of election fraud as a civilian, and of receiving money and valuables from active-duty military personnel under the pretext of promotion requests.
