U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 23rd (local time) that "climate change is the biggest hoax perpetrated on the world."

President Trump made this assertion during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly held in New York, stating, "Because whether the temperature goes up or down, whatever happens, it is called 'climate change'."

President Trump pointed out, "A UN official said in 1989 that 'entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth from global warming within 10 years,' but that did not happen," adding, "In the 1920s and 1930s, they said global cooling would destroy the world."

He then urged the world leaders attending the UN General Assembly, "Unless you get out of this 'green scam,' your country will fail."

He also said, "Carbon footprints are a scam fabricated by people with malicious intent, and they are heading down a path of total destruction."
