According to U.S. and Japanese officials, if this visit to Japan is confirmed, President Trump will meet for the first time with the successor to Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who is scheduled to step down on the 4th of next month.
This visit is interpreted as an opportunity to strengthen follow-up measures for the trade agreement between the two countries, with Japan being Asia's largest ally in terms of trade and security.
