U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on the 28th (local time) that he is "cautiously hopeful" about the possibility of reaching an agreement in the negotiations to end the Gaza war between Israel and the Palestinian armed group, mediated by the United States and Middle Eastern countries.

In an interview with Fox News aired on the same day, Vance stated, "There are very complex negotiations underway between Arab leaders, Israel, and the United States."

Regarding President Donald Trump's daily suggestions of progress in the negotiations, Vance commented, "I believe the President's optimism is warranted. I am more optimistic about the situation now than I have been at any point in the last several months."

He added, "However, realistically, these things can fall apart at the last minute. So, I am very hopeful, but cautiously hopeful."

Vance further expressed, "President Trump has brought us to the one-yard line, and I am very hopeful that we can all break through into the end zone and achieve a significant accomplishment for peace in the region."

Regarding Russia's situation in the Ukraine war, he pointed out, "It is truly stalled. They are killing a lot of people but losing a lot of people and making very few territorial gains."

He continued, "Russia is gaining very little on the battlefield. Now is the time for them to listen to President Trump's passionate plea to sit down at the table and negotiate peace in earnest. Russia needs to wake up and accept reality."

In response to whether the U.S. is considering providing Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles, which can strike deep into Russian territory, Vance replied, "That is a decision for the President to make, and he will do what is in the best interest of the United States."

Regarding the impending federal government shutdown, he criticized, "The American people need to pay attention to the fact that the Democrats are threatening to shut down the entire government to give illegal immigrants hundreds of billions of dollars in healthcare benefits. I have never seen anything like this."

Vance emphasized, "If the Democrats refuse to pass a clean continuing resolution (CR), a shutdown will occur, and the responsibility will lie with the Democrats."
