According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), this year’s Chuseok full moon will rise in Seoul at 5:32 PM on the day of Chuseok, October 6. It will reach its highest point in the sky at 11:50 PM that same night, and will appear fully round at 12:48 PM on October 7, the day after Chuseok.

Therefore, KASI explained that the moon seen on the night of Chuseok will appear slightly incomplete on the left side rather than perfectly round. However, there is a chance of rain in the Seoul area, which may make it difficult to view the full moon.

Moonrise times for other major cities include 5:33 PM in Incheon and Gwangju, 5:30 PM in Daejeon, 5:26 PM in Daegu, 5:24 PM in Busan, and 5:31 PM in Sejong.
