Biden Administration Caught Illegally Accessing Communications Records of Republican Lawmakers Regarding January 6th Capitol Attack
On the 6th (local time), appearing on the U.S. conservative news channel Newsmax, President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Special Counsel Jack Smith, who was recently exposed for allegedly ordering the illegal tracking of communication records of Republican lawmakers, calling him a "terrible and despicable guy." / Captured from Newsmax online.

Kang Shin-up Comments: “Special Counsels Referred to as the Three Democratic Hounds May One Day Be Labeled ‘Deranged’”
U.S. President Donald Trump lashed out, stating, “He was a violent, horrible prosecutor, and he's paying the price.”
Appearing on the political talk show ‘Greg Kelly Reports,’ aired by the U.S. conservative network Newsmax on the 6th (local time), President Trump fiercely criticized Jack Smith, disparaging him as a “sleazebag” and a “sick person.”
These remarks came immediately after revelations that, during his tenure as Special Counsel, Jack Smith had ordered the illegal surveillance of the mobile phones of Republican members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. As it emerged that Smith ordered the surveillance for political motives, the anger of the lawmakers who were once targeted is steadily spreading.
According to the Britannica Dictionary, a “sleazebag” refers to a person who is dishonorable, disgusting, or despicable.
Previously, during a bilateral working-level meeting between the U.S. and South Korea held at the White House in August, President Trump referred to the South Korean special investigation into the domestic insurrection—which included raids on churches and U.S. military bases—as “deranged Smith.” In American daily life, the term “deranged” is used to describe the behavior of a psychopath who acts insanely, such as someone who beats an innocent passerby to death just to steal money.
This suggests that the series of investigative practices by the South Korean government's special counsel could be viewed as insanity from the perspective of American society, the cradle of liberal democratic republics; the term caused quite a stir both domestically and internationally at the time.
‘Deranged Jack’ parody. Captured online.Special Counsel Jack Smith is notorious among American conservatives. Regarded by the conservative base as a far-left Democratic special counsel, he is criticized for causing controversy through excessive, coercive investigations against President Trump—such as labeling the Jan. 6 event as an insurrection at the behest of the Biden administration (which took office amidst allegations of election fraud), framing the former president for violations of the Patriot Act, and raiding Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida estate, to block his presidential bid.
Along with harsh criticism that he abandoned the principle of fair and balanced investigation, he is frequently cited as the main culprit behind the corruption that stirred strong conservative backlash throughout the Biden administration.
At the time, the interpretation gained strong traction that President Trump was accurately perceiving the current situation in Korea—even comparing it to the domestic insurrection special counsel that has been generating noise over human rights abuses while investigating former President Yoon Suk Yeol—yet the Lee Jae-myung government remains directionless.
Amidst this, President Trump appears to have once again portrayed Special Counsel Jack Smith on Newsmax as a despicable and disgusting person obsessed with political ideology.
In this broadcast in particular, he showcased his unfiltered candor, methodically bringing the misdeeds of Special Counsel Jack Smith to the surface.
He bluntly stated that “Jack Smith's tactics were extreme and abusive, so his downfall was inevitable.” He heightened the intensity of his criticism by adding, “Jack Smith was a despicable person, a bad guy, and he was terrible; he always went way too far.”
Furthermore, President Trump pointed out that Jack Smith’s aggressive approach destroyed the lives of countless people, strongly condemning him for “weaponizing the judicial system for political purposes.”
He continued, “Jack Smith tried to do to me what he did to so many others,” openly scolding him by saying, “This man was a bad guy, and the reason he lost is that he went too far.”
He also highlighted Jack Smith’s surveillance of Republican lawmakers’ phones as the cause of a massive backlash.
President Trump suggested that the time is ripe to hold him legally accountable, stating, “Sometimes you can get away with going too far, but this time, he didn't get away with it,” and repeatedly defined him as a “sick person.”
U.S. liberal media outlets such as CNN, NBC, and The New York Times (NYT) often interpret the word “sick,” which President Trump frequently uses, as his way of insulting an opponent or defining them as a nasty, evil, bad, or repulsive human being.

Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (Republican-Iowa) suddenly exposed a classified document on X (formerly Twitter) on this day, showing that the FBI during the Joe Biden administration searched the communication records of nine Republican senators in relation to the January 6, 2021, Capitol incident.
Following this, Kash Patel, the head of the FBI under the current Trump administration, promised to investigate the matter with transparency and accountability.
Lawyer Kang Shin-up, who covered this news on his YouTube channel on the morning of the 8th (Korean time), remarked, “You may remember that when Lee Jae-myung visited Washington, President Trump criticized Korea's special counsel regarding the raids on churches and U.S. military bases, saying that Korea also has a ‘deranged Jack Smith.’” He forecasted, “Our country also has the three major special counsels—the insurrection special counsel, the Kim Keon-hee special counsel, and the Marine Corps corporal special counsel—and while these people are currently throwing their weight around, they may well be called ‘deranged’ in the future.”
He added, “It is currently a huge topic in the U.S. that Jack Smith is allegedly involved in criminal activity, having wiretapped, monitored, or illegally tracked the phone calls of Republican senators without a court warrant.”
Lawyer Kang continued, “Some people describe (the Korean special counsel) as three hunting hounds unleashed by the Democratic Party, and they are biting everything in sight. From raiding churches and the Osan U.S. Air Force base to conducting side investigations and broadening their scope to people with no connection whatsoever, it’s chaos.” He commented on the implications of the U.S. media's reporting on the ‘disgusting Jack Smith’ for Korean society, noting, “As a result, reports are emerging that seconded prosecutors on the Kim Keon-hee special counsel team are collectively moving to return, and prosecutors on the insurrection special counsel team are also expressing their desire to go back.”
