An architectural structure resembling the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, is expected to be built in Washington D.C., the capital of the United States.

The Washington Post (WP) reported on the 10th (local time) that the White House is considering a plan to construct an Arc de Triomphe in Washington D.C.

The proposed location for the Arc de Triomphe is 'Memorial Circle,' a roundabout situated between the Lincoln Memorial, a major tourist attraction, and Arlington National Cemetery.

The plan is to install the Arc de Triomphe within the current open space of the roundabout.

The idea of constructing an Arc de Triomphe was first proposed last year by architectural critic Kate's B. Lee.

Earlier this year, he published an article stating, "Washington D.C. is the only capital of a major Western country without an Arc de Triomphe."

Subsequently, Justin Shubow, who served as the architectural advisor to the Donald Trump administration, explained the idea of building an Arc de Triomphe to the White House, and President Trump reportedly showed a very positive response.

In relation to this, Harrison Design, headquartered in Washington D.C., also unveiled design images of the Arc de Triomphe on social media last month.

Initially, the White House planned to install a temporary Arc de Triomphe on this federally owned site to commemorate the nation's 250th anniversary next year. However, it has recently been reported that the direction has shifted to construct it as a permanent monument.

President Trump, who has vowed to renovate parks and streets across Washington D.C., signed an executive order in August mandating that federal buildings be constructed in a classical and traditional style.

He has already remodeled the White House Rose Garden into a stone terrace and has commenced construction of a new ballroom.
