The People Power Party held a workshop for women local councilors at the National Assembly on the 22nd and pledged to win the June 3 local elections next year.

At the workshop held in the main conference room of the National Assembly Members' Office Building on this day, Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk said, "Democracy and the rule of law, built up over 50 years, have collapsed in just 5 months (since the launch of the Lee Jae-myung administration)." He added, "With 86 metropolitan councilors and 440 basic councilors, there is still hope for South Korea because of you who are fighting on the front lines."

Chairman Jang emphasized, "If the direction is not to protect liberal democracy, the rule of law, and the market economy, bringing in power is nothing more than snatching away someone else's rice bowl." He further stated, "What we are trying to protect is not just power, but the constitutional order of South Korea based on liberal democracy and the market economy."

Secretary-General Jeong Hee-yong stated, "We are currently in the process of recruiting candidates for 36 district party chapters that lack leaders, and we plan to conduct a party audit in December." He also added, "Next year, we are seeking ways to activate women's political participation and are working to create a system where individuals who can fight effectively against the regime's tyranny can receive nominations."

Na Kyung-won, Chairperson of the Party's Local Election General Planning Committee, said, "I believe the public thinks, 'We must vote for the People Power Party in next year's local elections to check this administration.'"

She emphasized, "When determining the nomination principles for next year, we will prioritize strong party loyalty. Let us unite with strong party spirit and fight together."

The workshop was attended by female lawmakers including Seo Myung-ok, Chairperson of the Central Women's Committee, and Cho Bae-sook, Lim I-ja, Kim Jeong-jae, Kim Hee-jung, Bae Hyun-jin, Lee Dal-hee, and Jo Ji-yeon. Yoon Jong-rok, former Second Vice Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, was scheduled to give a special lecture in a closed session.
