A group, including recruiters who found individuals to join an illegal fraud organization in Cambodia and sent them to the country, has been arrested and handed over to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 24th, the Seoul Gwangjin Police Station arrested two men in their 20s who acted as recruiters on charges of fraud and sent them to the prosecution.
Three men in their 20s who followed them to commit fraud in Cambodia were also arrested and sequentially sent to the prosecution.
It is reported that the recruiters were offered "2 million won per person and a portion of the profits" by a criminal organization in Cambodia and enticed people to participate in the crime.
The three individuals who went to Cambodia with them reportedly posed as call center agents and deceived four victims into handing over 500 million won by telling them, "If you purchase products on overseas shopping malls on our behalf, we will give you a 15% commission on top of your principal investment."
The police are continuing their investigation, including tracking down other individuals involved in the crime besides those arrested.
