Former President Yoon Suk-yeol is seen attending the first hearing of a case involving charges of obstruction of special official duties and abuse of power, among others, at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 26th. Yonhap News. 

Following his appearance in a rebellion trial yesterday, former President Yoon Suk-yeol will also attend the trial today, the 31st, for charges of obstructing arrest, which were additionally brought by the special prosecutor's team for rebellion.

Yoon's legal team announced that the former president will attend the trial for charges including obstruction of special official duties, which is being held before the Criminal Division 35 of the Seoul Central District Court (presiding judge Baek Dae-hyun).

Kim Sung-hoon, former deputy head of the Presidential Security Service, is scheduled to appear as a witness at today's trial.

Previously, Yoon attended the first hearing of this trial and the bail hearing on the 26th of last month. However, after his bail request was denied, he consecutively missed three subsequent hearings.

Yoon also reappeared yesterday, for the first time in four months, at the trial for charges of rebellion leadership and abuse of power.

He seized the opportunity to speak, asserting to witness Kwak Jong-geun, former commander of the Army Special Warfare Command, that "the deployment of troops to the National Assembly during the state of emergency was for the purpose of maintaining order."
