MBN, a broadcasting company recently embroiled in rumors of using derogatory terms for President Lee Jae-myung in a news report, has initiated legal action, stating that the breaking news was a fabricated image.

MBN announced on the 5th that it has filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Jungbu Police Station against the individuals who created and disseminated the post, alleging obstruction of business and defamation. MBN stated, "The post that appeared on some online communities and social media (SNS) on the 1st in the format of 'MBN Breaking News' is a maliciously and cleverly fabricated fake post."

The post in question adopted the format of an MBN breaking news report, conveying President Lee's remarks about Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, but replaced the word 'President' with another term carrying a derogatory nuance.

This post has spread online and remains on some communities and the like even now.

MBN emphasized, "MBN's image, built on fairness and trust in its reporting, has suffered a significant blow. This is absolutely unacceptable, and there will be no leniency whatsoever for the user who created and distributed this."
