Eric Trump has not ruled out his father's potential candidacy in the 2028 presidential election, while also hinting at his own possibilities, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, Eric, the second son of President Trump, suggested on the latest episode of the podcast 'Pod Force One' that a cap saying "Trump 2028" might allude not only to his father but also to future ambitions for himself or his brother, Donald Jr.

He told podcast host Miranda Devine, "I know you love the 2028 hat," adding, "People always assume it’s for President Donald Trump, but it could be for Eric Trump or Donald Trump Jr."

While he stated he is "temporarily retired from politics," the president's son hinted he might run "if there’s no other option."

Eric Trump commented that the Republican Party learned how to fight back after the Bush and McCain eras, describing his father as having transformed the GOP into a "party of fighters."

He said, "We had no choice. We couldn't win unless we fought for ourselves."

Meanwhile, Democrats have signaled plans to investigate the Trump family's expanding business ventures, particularly their cryptocurrency earnings, which have reached $800 million this year alone.

Eric Trump defended the measures taken against Trump Organization, stating that major banks have "cut them off from financial services."

He said, "We were denied financial services from all banks, like Chase and Bank of America."

He also touched upon the political impact of his father's mugshot taken in Fulton County, Georgia, suggesting it resonated with minority voters.

He said, "The most ironic part is probably that photo has been the biggest help to us in the African American and minority communities."

Eric Trump remains angry about the unresolved issues surrounding the assassination attempt on his father during the 2024 campaign.

He said, "It makes no sense whatsoever," referring to the shooter being cremated within days, adding, "It makes no sense. Most pets take longer to cremate."

While President Trump expressed satisfaction with the progress of the investigation, Eric Trump stated he was not convinced.

He said, "He got shot in the ear," adding, "I'm not satisfied. It makes no sense that we don't know anything."

Regarding the family's political legacy, both Eric and Donald Trump seem to agree that it is far from over.

President Trump, in a previous appearance on the same podcast, praised his children's accomplishments, stating, "My children all have a future in politics."
