Legislative Minister Cho Won-cheol apologized on the 6th for his National Assembly audit remarks stating that President Lee Jae-myung's related case was not guilty, saying, "I am very sorry."

Cho responded this way when Rep. Shin Dong-wook of the People Power Party pointed out at a plenary session of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, "There was a lot of controversy due to my remarks during the last (National Assembly audit)."

Previously, Cho stated during the National Assembly audit on the 24th of last month, "I believe all 12 charges against President Lee are not guilty," which led to calls for Cho's resignation and impeachment, particularly from the opposition parties.

When Rep. Shin further pointed out, "You appeared on YouTube afterwards and said the same thing," Cho replied, "I went out to explain the circumstances of my remarks and the erroneous reporting. I am sorry, and I will ensure this does not happen again."

After causing controversy with his National Assembly audit remarks, Cho appeared on a YouTube channel on the 3rd and mentioned that suspicions of President Lee's involvement in the Daejang-dong development corruption and favoritism case were not true.
