U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized on the 24th (local time) that the government's tariff revenue will surge and the effects of tariffs will be felt once importers' and consumers' "excess inventory" is depleted.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social that day, President Trump said, "Despite the fact that the United States is earning hundreds of billions of dollars as a direct result of tariffs imposed on other countries, the full benefit of the tariffs has not yet been calculated because many buyers of goods and products have 'STOCK UP' far more inventory than they can use in the short term to avoid tariffs."

President Trump asserted, "However, that enormous amount of inventory is now being depleted, and soon tariffs will be paid on everything to which tariffs apply without evasion, and the amount (of tariffs) paid to the United States will SKYROCKET beyond historical levels."

He added, "These (tariff) payment amounts will set records and lead our country down a new and unprecedented path," predicting that "this 'power of tariffs' will bring unprecedented national security and prosperity to the United States."

President Trump pointed out, "Those who oppose us are working for hostile foreign interests that are not aligned with America's success, safety, and prosperity." This appeared to be a reference to politicians and media outlets critical of his tariff policies.

He wrote, "As we continue to Make America Great Again without stopping, I eagerly await the Supreme Court's decision on this urgent and time-sensitive matter."

The U.S. Supreme Court is hearing a case to determine the legality of reciprocal tariffs imposed by the Trump administration worldwide, and many anticipate the possibility of the government losing.

President Trump's emphasis that the tariffs he pushed through will soon bring "real effects" to America's security and economy is interpreted as an attempt to influence the Supreme Court hearing through public opinion warfare.

However, President Trump's remarks on this day are likely to be controversial in that they fundamentally express tariffs paid by U.S. importers to U.S. government authorities as if they were paid by exporting countries to the U.S. (exporting companies to the U.S.).

While U.S. importers may "pass on" a certain portion of the tariffs to exporting companies to the U.S. through price negotiations in the short term, experts believe that in the medium to long term, tariffs will inevitably be passed on to consumers by reflecting them in the prices charged to consumers.
