Multiple media outlets reported on Tuesday the 25th that the Department of Justice and the FBI have launched investigations into Democratic lawmakers who participated in a video urging soldiers to disobey "illegal orders."

The Department of Justice and the FBI confirmed to The Daily Wire that they are scheduling interviews with the lawmakers in question.

The lawmakers who appeared in the video urging soldiers and intelligence operatives to refuse "illegal orders" from the Trump administration include Senators Elissa Slotkin (D-Michigan) and Mark Kelly (D-Arizona), and Representatives Chris Deluzio, Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pennsylvania), Maggie Goodlander (D-New Hampshire), and Jason Crow (D-New Hampshire).

The reports of the Justice Department's investigation follow a announcement on Monday by the Department of the Army that it is reviewing "allegations of misconduct" against Senator Kelly. Senator Kelly served as a U.S. Navy fighter pilot before becoming an astronaut and retired at the rank of captain.

The Democratic lawmakers under investigation stated on Monday that the FBI had contacted the House and Senate security details to request interviews with the lawmakers.

Four of the representatives targeted released a joint statement, emphasizing, "President Donald Trump is weaponizing the FBI as a tool to threaten and harass members of Congress. No threat or harassment can stop us from doing our jobs and defending the Constitution. We took an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution. This oath lasts a lifetime, and we intend to uphold it. We will not be intimidated and will never give up."

Senator Slotkin, a former CIA officer who is reportedly the architect of the video, also wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "It appears the FBI's counterterrorism division has opened an investigation into me in response to a video that President Trump did not like."

The Democratic lawmakers appear to be responding to the investigation by implying that Trump is weaponizing law enforcement agencies for political retribution.

This is analogous to Trump's past claims of "weaponized justice" regarding the numerous investigations and indictments during the Joe Biden administration, to which the Democrats are now comparing their own investigation.

Meanwhile, retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Buzz Patterson, who served as a military aide to the White House during the Clinton administration, stated that he "fully" supports the prosecution of the Democratic "Sedition Six" who urged soldiers to disobey "illegal orders."

Retired Army Major General James "Spider" Marks also appeared on CNN, saying, "I wish the Senator well, and I wish his colleagues well, but I want to take a step back and point out that what he and his colleagues did was inappropriate."

Major General Marks added, "God bless Senator Kelly and all that he's accomplished in his life. But he ought to take a step back and ask himself why he would send a message that so clearly insults our chain of command."
