  • Glen Grossman: Leftists attack military, weaken immigration enforcement

Representative Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.) said he believes the left's attacks on the military are intended to undermine President Donald Trump's immigration enforcement and return America to open borders.

Grothman also exposed how the Biden administration failed to track the identities of tens of thousands of migrant children who entered the U.S. without their parents through a House subcommittee.

His remarks came earlier this week, after an Afghan national who entered the U.S. under this administration fatally shot and critically wounded two National Guard members patrolling near the White House, one of whom died.

"They are out front trying to make sure we don't enforce our immigration laws. It's very simple," Grothman told Just The News on Thursday. "We are in a situation where we're getting about four times as many people who are acquiring new citizenship every year than we did when we were kids. That means a lot more people are getting citizenship legally."

"This is a sign that they [Democrats] want to destroy the country. They want our immigration laws unenforced, and they don't want our National Guard, or anything else, to be able to enforce them," he added.

Grothman, in a statement Wednesday night, expressed his support for the military assisting with Trump's law enforcement.

"Prayers for the National Guardsmen and their families who tragically lost their lives in this horrible act of violence," he wrote on X. "There is absolutely no place for this in our country. These Guardsmen were simply doing their job protecting the American people and our capital. Thank you to all those who are dedicated and vigilant to keeping our communities safe."

Grothman, through his subcommittee, highlights whistleblower testimony and works with federal oversight agencies to resolve scandals where tens of thousands of unaccompanied migrant children get lost in the system or are improperly tracked as required by law simply for entering without their parents.

He and other Republicans have been investigating how illegal immigration has recently diverted federal tax dollars to Democratic-supporting states that have set up havens for illegal aliens by hijacking their district allocations. Grothman also warned Democrats would reopen the border quickly if they won the next two elections.

"The problem is not just with these few politicians," Grothman said, referring to six Democratic congressmen who posted videos urging soldiers to resist what they called Trump's "illegal" orders.

"It's with the governors, it's with the mayors, and it's with everyone who has a sanctuary city, and they're saying, 'We want to do everything we can to encourage illegal immigration in this country.' That's what this is all about," he stated.

"If the Democrats get back in power, and you go back to the idea of 2 to 3 million people coming across the border every year, then this country will be destroyed. But again, look at prominent Democrats who are saying they don't want to enforce immigration laws, virtually," Grothman said.

The six Democratic congressmen who made the offending video have had a rough week.

Trump accused them of treason, the FBI is seeking to interview them as part of a criminal investigation, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth threatened to bring Army pilot and astronaut, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, back to active duty to face a court-martial.

The group has had trouble explaining what they meant in the video, with Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin admitting in a TV interview that she could not name which of Trump's illegal orders should be violated.

And on Wednesday, senators trying to express condolences for the injured National Guardsmen and their families drew fresh ridicule on social media.

Conservative legal activist Mike Davis responded to Slotkin's condolences on X with "Eat dirt."

When Sen. Kelly tried to express support for the injured soldiers, Deputy General Counsel of the Republican National Committee Harmeet Dhillon posted on social media, "Look in the mirror."
