Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the People Power Party, announced on Facebook on the 19th that a resolution on "The Principles of Democracy and the Rule of Law in the Republic of Korea" was adopted at the International Democrat Union (IDU) meeting.

Jang stated that he received notification that the "Resolution on the Principles of Democracy and the Rule of Law in the Republic of Korea" was adopted at the IDU meeting, which includes conservative parties, held in Washington D.C., USA.

Jang also revealed that he received a reply from Stephen J. Harper, the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada and Chairman of the International Democrat Union, stating, "Member states express deep concern that South Korea's freedom and democracy are being undermined under the Lee Jae-myung administration."

He further added, "The international community is watching whether South Korea will leap towards freedom and prosperity or fall into oppression and dictatorship. One-party dictatorship and judicial destruction are the direct path to division and ruin. Our party will devote all our strength to defending liberal democracy and continue the proud history of freedom and prosperity built with the blood and sweat of our great people."

Instead of attending the International Democrat Union (IDU) meeting due to a prior party engagement, Jang had previously conveyed the reality of South Korea through a video message, requesting the solidarity and support of the international community for the defense of liberal democracy.
