U.S. President Donald Trump [AP Yonhap News]
U.S. President Donald Trump, entering the second year of his second term, on the 2nd (local time) reiterated his dismissal of concerns about his health due to aging.
Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, "The White House doctors have just reported that I am in perfect health, and I passed cognitive tests three times in a row perfectly, meaning I answered 100% of the questions correctly."
The U.S. President's post was uploaded at 6:56 AM Eastern Standard Time on the same day.
This is interpreted as him once again dismissing concerns about his aging and declining health, as he is currently 79 years old and will turn 80 on his birthday on June 14th.
President Trump had also refuted persistent rumors about his health issues in an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) released the previous day.
He particularly emphasized the cognitive tests, stating, "No other president or former vice president has ever wanted to take them," and "I strongly believe that anyone running for president or vice president should be required to take a rigorous, meaningful, and verified cognitive test."
He added, "Our great country cannot be run by fools and incapable people."
