The person in the box testified that the vehicle driven by Renee Nicole Good, who died in an ICE shooting, led a protest that obstructed ICE vehicles.
The Trump administration is deploying more than 100 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers to Minnesota following the death of a white woman who was shot by ICE during an immigration enforcement protest, The New York Times (NYT) reported on the 8th (local time).
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is strengthening federal operations by reassigning personnel from Chicago and New Orleans to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul) area, NYT reported.
The DHS is suspending some operations in Chicago to support the deployment to Minnesota and plans to transfer non-lethal equipment from Chicago to the region, according to documents obtained by The New York Times.
The deployment of additional personnel from Customs and Border Protection is expected to continue through the weekend, with officers scheduled to return to their duty stations on Sunday. The Department of Homeland Security declined to comment on the operational details.
This move comes after Minneapolis city officials urged federal immigration authorities to leave the city following the shooting death of Renee Nicole Good on Wednesday.
Federal authorities stated that Good, a U.S. citizen, was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer after she attempted to ram officers with her vehicle. However, state and local authorities have contested these claims.

In an interview video from MPR News reported by Fox News, a woman testified that Good's vehicle was the "main car leading the anti-ICE protesters." The resident stated that the vehicle driven by Good obstructed ICE vehicles at the scene and "successfully" blocked the road.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen described the incident as an act of domestic terrorism.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) publicly protested that federal agencies, including the FBI, were preventing Minnesota investigators from accessing evidence in the case.
However, it appears clear that the investigation falls under the FBI's jurisdiction, as federal agents were involved from the outset.
The Department of Homeland Security had already increased its troop presence in Minnesota, deploying approximately 2,000 law enforcement officers to the Twin Cities, and stated that it would continue operations despite opposition from local officials.
Acting ICE Director Todd Ryan announced on the 8th that agents had temporarily suspended enforcement activities following the shooting but have since resumed them.
"We are going to continue to do this work," Ryan said.
Recently, the Trump administration has been focusing attention on Minnesota due to a major federal fraud investigation related to COVID-19 food assistance and other social safety net programs overseen by the administration of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
More than 90 people have been indicted in connection with these cases.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz expressed outrage over the incident but urged protesters to remain peaceful.
Governor Walz suggested that the Trump administration might use the unrest in the area as a pretext for a crackdown, stating, "They want a show. Don't take the bait."
He added, "Do not allow them to deploy federal troops here, do not allow them to invoke the Insurrection Act and declare martial law."
