President Yoon's Decision Trial on the 9th: A South Korea-U.S.-Japan YouTube Video Revealed
At the sentencing hearing on December 12-3 related to President Yoon Suk-yeol's martial law, held in Courtroom 417 of the Seoul Central District Court on the 9th, a YouTube video from Hanmiilbo drew attention as it was used as PPT material. Attorney Kim Ji-mi, pointing to the video, stated, "The lantern's lux (brightness) is very strong. If it were directly shone into someone's eyes, Ahn Gwi-ryeong would naturally recoil, but that could cause vision damage, which is why the soldier aimed it downwards." [Photo = YouTube Capture]
A YouTube video from Hanmiilbo garnered significant attention when it was utilized as PPT material during the sentencing hearing on December 12-3 related to President Yoon Suk-yeol's martial law, held in Courtroom 417 of the Seoul Central District Court on the 9th.
The video in question was a short video (shorts) titled "Martial Law Where Only Soldiers Were Assaulted", released on the Hanmiilbo YouTube channel on December 18th of last year.
On this day, Attorney Kim Ji-mi, who represents former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, identified Ahn Gwi-ryeong, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, as an "active offender attempting to steal military property" and submitted the Hanmiilbo YouTube video, which showed her attempting to snatch the martial law forces' firearm, as PPT material.
The video depicts the process of Ahn Gwi-ryeong, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, and two men attempting to seize the firearm simultaneously.
In the video, a man in black clothes wearing glasses grabs the muzzle of the gun. Then, a large man in blue clothes twists the soldier's arm. Finally, Ahn Gwi-ryeong pulls on the muzzle, and as she does, she is shown forcefully pulling the gun sling worn by the soldier and shouting, "Let go!"
Viewers commented, "Ahn Gwi-ryeong is pulling the sling, so the person who should be saying 'let go' is the soldier. It's incomprehensible that she's shouting 'let go' as if she's the one being held," expressing their disbelief.
However, YouTuber Kim Eo-joon distorted the reporting by claiming, "Ahn Gwi-ryeong was being dragged out by the soldier," and stated, "Ahn Gwi-ryeong's shout of 'let go' is precisely the evidence of that."

Attorney Kim Ji-mi, pointing to the video, said, "The lantern's lux (brightness) is very strong. If it were directly shone into someone's eyes, Ahn Gwi-ryeong would naturally recoil, but that could cause vision damage, which is why the soldier aimed it downwards." She continued, "Yet, civilians intervened to stop the soldier, this scene appeared on the BBC, and Ahn Gwi-ryeong was portrayed as a great hero and interviewed. This was clearly a crime scene, and this person is an active offender."
Furthermore, she argued, "Firearms are as vital as life to soldiers, and in the United States, attempting to steal military property is a crime for which there is no recourse even if the offender is shot on the spot."
Although not submitted by Attorney Kim, a video titled "[Exclusive] Ahn Gwi-ryeong's Accomplices in Group Firearm Seizure Identified as Three People!" also effectively explains the situation at that time. Both videos can be found on the Hanmiilbo YouTube channel.

Previously, on December 3rd of last year, the Hanmiilbo YouTube channel released a video titled "Attorney Kim Ji-mi: 'The Reason for Martial Law is Election Fraud.'"
In the video, Attorney Kim Ji-mi cited "operational issues with the central election management system and the possibility of external interference" as the core reasons for the recent declaration of martial law.
Additionally, Attorney Kim argued that "in a situation where distrust in elections is widespread, the government and relevant agencies must thoroughly clarify the facts and resolve the issues through international cooperation."
The Hanmiilbo YouTube video was also reported by other media outlets under the title "The Mastermind Behind Martial Law, 'Election Fraud Suspicions' – The President's Anger Was Not Spontaneous."
