The "Media Bias Portal," also known as the "Fake News Portal," launched by the White House on December 1st last year, is filled with everything from "lies" to "left-wing lunacy" concerning over 20 left-leaning media outlets, just weeks after its release, Newsmax reported on the 16th (local time).

In an article on the website titled "Repeated Errors - These Outlets Don't Just Report Incorrectly, They Consistently Report Incorrectly," major news outlets such as CBS News, The Washington Post, and MC Now (formerly MSNBC) were each mentioned six times.

The New York Times was mentioned five times, followed by outlets famously known for their progressive leanings, including CNN, ABC News, the Associated Press, and Politico.

CNN was selected as the "media offender of the week" on December 9th, and the accompanying image featured the word "EXPOSED" printed in red capital letters above the CNN logo.

The post included CNN footage of a suspect accused of planting pipe bombs at Republican and Democratic headquarters in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021.

In the footage, CNN anchor Jake Tapper (referred to as "Fake" Tapper in the post) identifies the suspect as white, even though the suspect's photo is superimposed over the video and appears to be a Black man.

The White House specified the "violation" as "CNN's fake news anchor Tapper misidentified the race of the suspect," adding, "In reality, the suspect is Black." The White House further stated, "It is unclear how such a mistake could have been made, but given Tapper's past actions, it is highly likely he was attempting to cover up for the bomber."

Additionally, the White House pointed out, "Earlier this year, Fake News [media] would cover up the identities of illegal immigrants who committed crimes by having their faces be mosaicked, allowing them to evade punishment."

The post includes the word "Category" and under it, the word "lie," along with a list of sources including a New York Post article, a post by podcaster Benny Johnson, and a post by RapidResponse47.

The next section of the site is the "Hall of Shame," described as "a record of journalistic falsehoods and misleading articles highlighted by the White House," urging users to "scroll to find the truth."

At the top of the "Offenders" list is The Washington Post, with the violation stated as, "The Washington Post published an article by Alex Horton and Ellen Nakashima, citing two anonymous sources, claiming that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses ordered the commander of the Joint Special Operations Command to shoot everyone during a counter-terrorism operation in the Caribbean."

The White House stated that the "truth" is that "the Department of Defense killed 11 narco-terrorists in a joint airstrike," and The Washington Post "reported baseless claims to tarnish the honor of U.S. soldiers and incite anti-American sentiment."

The site lists "Lies, Medical Malpractice, and Missing Context" under the Category item.

Cited sources include The Washington Post, The New York Times, and posts from White House Press Secretary Steven Cheung, as well as Hegses and White House spokesperson Caroline Reebitt.

The Washington Post, The New York Times, Politico, and The Wall Street Journal were grouped together in one post for allegedly conspiring to spread claims that "President Donald Trump's heightened law enforcement measures in Washington D.C. were not implemented in high-crime areas."

This "violation" is related to the creation of a map that disguised troop locations, based on reports from Washington Post reporters.

The White House stated, "Their reporters provided false information and used incomplete data," adding that the content reported by The Wall Street Journal "relied exclusively on testimony from Ebony Payne, a Democrat district committeewoman, who is a highly conflicted source."

The classification item is listed as "Circular Reporting, Left-wing Lunacy, Lies, and Fraud."

Numerous entries were found for MS Now, still referred to as MSNBC on the portal. One such entry is categorized as "Fraud," where Ken Dilanian of the network stated, "people walking around in uniform in American cities… some Americans might object to that," attempting to deflect responsibility from terrorists, just hours after two National Guardsmen were shot in Washington D.C.

The White House, under the guise of "the truth," claims that the National Guardsmen are "American heroes who were shot by terrorists in Afghanistan" and that Dilanian "decided to demonize them and push his own anti-ICE agenda."

It falls under the category of "left-wing lunacy."

The White House criticizes CNN and MS Now for "Failure to Report," noting that they "did not devote a single second of airtime" to reporting on the "terrible incident" of the attack on a Texas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility on July 4th.

The New York Times received multiple criticisms, including a report claiming that Trump's health condition "renders him unable to perform his duties as President," which is described as "biased and unfair reporting."

The White House stated that "the facts are" that the reporter wrote the article based on only one-third of President Trump's full schedule, and that his physician "clearly stated that President Trump's health is in very good condition."

The White House stated, "This blatant attempt to discredit President Donald Trump was reported by the same journalist and media outlet that described Joe Biden as 'healthy and vibrant.'"

The White House issued the strongest condemnation against the Daily Mail for publishing an article that disseminated a fake image of Vice President JD Vance yelling in a restaurant while wearing only his underwear.

The White House stated that the Daily Mail failed to clearly state in the article that the image was fake because "struggling tabloids need to have sensational headlines to drive clicks from their readers."

The White House criticized ABC's "The View" and host Whoopi Goldberg, pointing out her "outraged" appearance as she claimed that President Trump's construction of a ballroom in the White House was an abuse of power.

The White House stated that "the truth" is that presidents have been remodeling the White House since 1902, up to President Barack Obama, and labeled this act as "left-wing lunacy."

The website allows users to submit suspected cases of bias by texting the word BIAS to 45470.

This portal, which has resulted from the worsening uneasy relationship between President Trump and some media outlets, has been praised by Tim Graham, Director of Media Analysis at the Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog group.

He told the Associated Press, "We are happy about it," adding, "This is a more vigorous effort than Republican presidents have made in the past. Today, all Republicans realize that the media is on the other side, and they feel the need to define them as adversaries."

Matt Murray, editor-in-chief of The Washington Post, told the Associated Press that the portal does not shake the newspaper's efforts in news reporting.

Murray stated, "Let's be clear about what is happening here: Government officials are unfairly and intentionally targeting journalists who are exercising their constitutionally protected rights. The Washington Post will not be deterred and will report rigorously and accurately for all Americans."
