Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince of Iran, stated on the 20th (local time) that Iran's protest movement is running out of time and that President Donald Trump must act to prove he will keep his promises.
Appearing on "The Record with Greta Van Susteren" on Newsmax, Pahlavi characterized the current crisis as a test of American resolve and urged President Trump to deploy reinforcements to support the protesters attempting to overthrow the Islamic regime.
Pahlavi described it as a large-scale violent campaign, accusing the regime of "waging war against its own people and firing live ammunition and military weapons."
He added that security forces are "breaking into people's homes and beating them mercilessly" and "firing at civilians who are chanting slogans from their rooftops at night."
Referring to the situation across Iran, Pahlavi stated, "It's really like a battlefield," asserting that unarmed civilians are facing overwhelming force.
He said, "Brave Iranians, unarmed and therefore completely defenseless against this regime, are now asking, 'When are the reinforcements going to arrive to give us at least a fighting chance to fight this regime and bring it to an end?'"
Despite the crackdown, Pahlavi said the protest movement is still alive in people's hearts.
"Of course, the momentum is still alive, but now people have to wait for the next opportunity to come out into the streets," he said.
"The fight goes on. There is no turning back," he stated. "We will keep fighting and fighting until we finally win, and hopefully, we will get some help along the way."
Referring to previous statements by Trump, Pahlavi said the president has drawn a clear line.
"The president has made it clear that he would never stand by and watch if the regime used violence against its people," he said.
Based on those remarks, Pahlavi asked, "If that's the intention, what are the necessary elements to help the people?" He added that the regime is using "all repressive tools," including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the intelligence ministry, stating, "These organizations must be neutralized."
He also accused the Iranian regime of "bringing in forces from Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Iraq to do their dirty work."
Pahlavi stated that President Trump now "must show that he is a man of his word" and must prove, unlike former President Barack Obama in 2009, that the Iranian people will "not be abandoned."
"He is not President Obama," Pahlavi said, adding that Iran expects President Trump to "act on his promise soon, as we are in a defensive posture everywhere we can be."
"But the reinforcements have to arrive someday," he added.
Crown Prince Pahlavi said, "The death toll currently is well over 30,000."
He praised Elon Musk's Starlink for playing a crucial role in providing information to the Iranian people, calling it a "key element in connecting us," and thanked Musk for his help as the uprising continues.
