The White House said on the 26th (local time) that U.S. President Donald Trump remains deeply involved in mediating peace between Russia and Ukraine to end the war in Ukraine.

At a briefing that day, White House spokesperson Caroline Rabbit, when asked if President Trump plans to speak with the leaders of both countries as a trilateral meeting involving Russia and Ukraine, mediated by the U.S., is scheduled to be held soon after taking place last weekend, said, "I am not aware of any scheduled calls at this time."

"The President is still deeply involved. Of course, he is being briefed on these meetings by (his son-in-law) Jared Kushner and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff," Rabbit said.

He also described the trilateral meeting held last weekend as "a historic meeting. The President's team brought together both parties to the war and moved closer to peace," emphasizing, "Therefore, the President is not giving up on the peace process."

Rabbit also commented on the recovery of the body of the last Israeli hostage in Gaza on this day, saying, "It is a tremendous diplomatic achievement for President Trump, for Israel, and for the world. The President made the impossible possible."

He added that he understands that "more than 20 countries have agreed to join the 'Peace Committee,' the supreme decision-making body for the interim governance and reconstruction of Gaza, chaired directly by President Trump."

Meanwhile, regarding President Trump's visit to Iowa on the 27th, Rabbit stated, "He is scheduled to visit local businesses in Des Moines, Iowa, and will deliver a speech related to affordability and the economy."
