U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly wants his aides to review swift and decisive Iran attack options to fulfill his promise of "help is on the way" for protesters killed in Iran.

However, he does not want a war that could lead to a protracted conflict in the Middle East, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing analysts and some Trump advisors.

Hameini recently said, "If America starts a war, it must know that this time it will be a regional war."

When asked by reporters about the Iranian leader's warning before attending the Mar-a-Lago wedding of Dan Scavino and Erin Elmore on Sunday, President Trump replied, "Of course, he would say that."

"I hope we reach an agreement," President Trump said, adding, "If we don't reach an agreement, then we will know if his words were right or wrong."

President Trump handled the operation to oust Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro very swiftly and successfully. He has since exerted pressure on Iran and Cuba by dispatching an "armed fleet" twice. His special envoy, Rick Grenell, described this as "tough diplomacy."

As concerns grow that U.S. military action against Iran could destabilize the region, Middle Eastern powers are pressing to arrange emergency talks between senior U.S. and Iranian officials in Turkey this week, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt are working to mediate talks that could involve Trump envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi. While the two sides have disagreements over Iran's nuclear enrichment, ballistic missile program, and support for regional militias, they have expressed a willingness to negotiate.

The Iranian side insists that negotiations should focus solely on its nuclear program and has demanded assurances that it will not be attacked during the talks.

Israel expects the U.S. to demand a reduction in Iran's missile range. If Iran abandons its long-range missile development, the threat to Israel will decrease.

Meanwhile, President Trump warned of potential attacks if diplomatic solutions fail, telling reporters on Sunday, "We have put the largest and strongest ships in the world there."

In addition to the carrier strike group, composed of the USS Abraham Lincoln with 5,680 crew members and three Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, three destroyers – USS Delbert D. Black, USS McFaul, and USS Mitscher – are operating near the Strait of Hormuz and in the Red Sea.

Furthermore, three littoral combat ships – USS Santa Barbara, USS Canberra, and USS Tulsa – are reportedly deployed in the Persian Gulf to conduct potential mine-clearing missions.

Additionally, an Ohio-class guided-missile submarine capable of carrying 154 Tomahawk missiles has been reported to be in the region.

Israeli Channel 13 reported that, "In addition to maritime responses, the U.S. military is preparing to strengthen ground defenses, with the THAAD air defense system expected to arrive within days."

Open-source aircraft tracking systems indicate that a squadron of F-15 fighter jets is being reinforced at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

The War Zone also reported signs suggesting the potential deployment of several air support assets to the Middle East. This includes six U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft leaving the Caribbean and heading across the Atlantic to an undisclosed destination.
