Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that he met with the newly elected President of Honduras, Nasry 'Tito' Asfura, who won his election with Trump's public endorsement.

According to Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, on the 8th (local time), Trump invited President Asfura to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida the previous day for a cordial meeting.

"Tito and I share the same 'America First' values," Trump stated. "We have a close partnership in security, and we are working together to combat dangerous cartels and drug traffickers, and to expel illegal immigrants and gangs from the United States."

"We also discussed many other issues, including investment and trade between our two countries," Trump added. "I look forward to welcoming President Asfura back to the United States."

President Trump, who aims to establish pro-American regimes in Central and South America and block China's influence, publicly endorsed President Asfura, a right-wing candidate, in last year's Honduran presidential election. President Asfura won by a narrow margin against a centrist opposition candidate.
