Texas Lieutenant Governor and Chairman of the President's Commission on Religious Freedom, Dan Patrick, announced on Wednesday, the 11th, the dismissal of Commissioner Carrie Prejean Boller.

Boller, a former Miss USA runner-up, attempted to steer discussions at Monday's hearing on the definition of antisemitism and the Israel-Hamas war, particularly pressing a Jewish witness to condemn Israel's actions in Gaza, reported JustTheNews.

Patrick, who co-chairs the commission with former HUD Secretary Ben Carson, explained his decision to dismiss Boller after she attempted to "hijack" the hearing for her own political agenda.

Patrick wrote on X, "No member of this commission has the right to hijack a hearing for personal or political agendas on any issue. That clearly, unequivocally happened on Monday at the antisemitism hearing in the US."

Patrick pointed out that "under the Biden administration, Americans of all faiths have not only been stripped of their religious freedom but have often been punished for attempting to uphold their faith in education, the military, the private sector, and even in the ministry." He then emphasized former President Trump's commitment to religious freedom.

Patrick continued, "The President respects all religions. He believes that every American has the right to enjoy the great inheritance that the Founding Fathers gave us with the First Amendment." He added, "I thank President Trump for the vision and courage to create this commission. Fighting for God's word and religious freedom is what this country was built on. Leading this fight will be one of his greatest legacies."

Meanwhile, Boller claims Patrick does not have the authority to remove her from her position, stating she is a presidential appointee and will remain in her role until Trump directs otherwise.

She retorted on X to Patrick, "You did not appoint me to the commission, and you have no authority to remove me. This is a gross abuse of your power, and it leads me to believe you are acting in concert with Zionist political forces that have hijacked the hearings, rather than upholding religious freedom."

Boller stated, "You are speaking without authority, and your actions clearly reflect a Zionist political agenda, not the President's intentions, the spirit of the U.S. Constitution, or the purpose of this commission. I know the President deeply cares about religious freedom. That's why he appointed me. Any attempt to remove me because of my steadfast religious beliefs as a commissioner on the Religious Freedom Commission directly contradicts the mission of this organization, which is to protect the freedom of all religions, including devout Catholics like myself who reject Zionism."

She added, "I look forward to the hearing next month. My resolve to protect and defend the religious freedom of all Americans is stronger than ever. I will not bow to Israel. I am a servant of Christ our King, not a slave beholden to a foreign power."

President Trump's Commission on Religious Freedom was established by presidential executive order on May 1 of last year. At the time, the White House stated, "President Trump has signed several executive orders to strengthen religious freedom since taking office," and added, "We are mobilizing all federal resources to combat the surge in antisemitism on college campuses and in the streets since October 7, 2023."
