Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee next week regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case. France 24 reported that while the testimonies will be recorded, the proceedings will be held in private.
According to reports, the committee will decide at a later date whether to release the recorded footage.
Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify on February 26, and Bill Clinton on February 27. However, the exact time of the testimonies and whether they will take place at the Capitol remains uncertain.
The Clintons have pushed back against the closed-door format, demanding a public hearing and accusing House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) of attempting to manipulate the terms of the testimony.

Earlier this month, Hillary Clinton wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Representative James Comer, if you want a fight, let’s have it in public. You talk a lot about transparency, and there is nothing more transparent than a public hearing with the cameras on," adding, "We will be there."
Former President Bill Clinton also criticized the private format, accusing the Republican Party of having political motives.

He wrote, "Chairman Comer claims to want cameras now, but insists it can only be done behind closed doors. Who benefits from this arrangement? Not Epstein’s victims who deserve justice, and not the public who deserves to know the truth. This serves only the interests of one political party. This is not a fact-finding mission; it is purely a political stunt."
The committee had previously initiated criminal proceedings against the Clintons for failing to comply with subpoenas, which eventually led to this agreement.
Representative Comer has made the Clintons a focal point of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Epstein’s alleged political and financial connections, arguing that Congress must uncover whether influential figures were aware of Epstein’s sex trafficking operation and whether federal agencies failed to take appropriate action.
This investigation marks the first time a former president and a former secretary of state have been compelled to testify before Congress.
