Iranian local media reported on the 3rd (local time) that the building of the Assembly of Experts, the constitutional body that elects Iran's supreme leader, was destroyed by bombing by the United States and Israel.

The Assembly of Experts, a constitutional body composed of 88 clerics serving eight-year terms, is electing a successor to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader who died in a U.S. and Israeli airstrike on the 28th of last month.

The Assembly of Experts building is located in Qom, a religious city in central Iran, and it has not been confirmed whether a meeting was being held there at the time of the bombing.

On this day, the fourth day of the armed conflict, the United States and Israel continued their large-scale offensive on various regions of Iran, including Tehran.
