The United States, which has been conducting military operations against Iran for five days, announced on the 4th (local time) that it had sunk more than 20 Iranian warships.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East, announced on X (formerly Twitter) on the same day, "U.S. forces have attacked or sunk more than 20 vessels belonging to the Iranian regime."

It was explained that this includes Iran's Soleimani-class warships.

Defense Secretary Pete Hagasees commented on the post, saying about the Soleimani-class warship attacked by the U.S. military, "A ship named after a terrorist. It's now resting with the fish. CENTCOM doesn't miss. The (Iranian) regime doesn't know how to swim."

During a press briefing with Secretary Hagasees on the same day, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Kaine stated, "We have sunk more than 20 Iranian naval vessels to date," and added, "We have effectively neutralized Iran's main naval power within the operational area."
