U.S. President Donald Trump on the 8th (local time) repeatedly urged the processing of the 'SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility) Act,' which mandates the presentation of identification to prove U.S. citizenship when voters register to vote in U.S. states.

President Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, on the same day, "This must be done immediately. It must be processed as the top priority, ahead of everything else."

He added, "As President, I will not sign any other bill until this bill passes. We must move forward with the best bill, not a watered-down version."

The bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives last year and is currently stalled in the Senate, with little prospect of passage.

President Trump's continued urging for the bill's passage stems from his suspicion that fraudulent elections, favoring the opposition Democratic Party through proxy voting by undocumented immigrants in past U.S. elections, have been rampant due to the lack of mandatory voter identification.

However, the Democratic Party insists that President Trump's allegations are baseless and opposes the bill's passage.

The White House has detailed the bill's contents on its official website and is also running a campaign urging voters to call on their federal senators to pass the bill.
