President Donald Trump stated on Sunday, the 8th, via a Truth Social post, that he would not sign any other legislation until the "Save America Act" passes Congress.

This bill includes provisions such as requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration and demanding voter ID for voting. Democrats argue that the bill would disenfranchise some voters.

Trump wrote on Truth, "It was a really great thing that Scott Presler on Fox & Friends, spoke so passionately about using the Filibuster, or 'Talking Filibuster,' to get the SAVE AMERICA ACT passed. This is something that 88% of all voters support."

President Trump declared, "This Bill must be passed immediately. It is more important than any other Bill. It should be the highest priority. As President, I will not be signing any other Bill until this one is passed. We must pass the Bill, the REAL Bill, not a watered down version."

He continued by listing the bill's provisions: "Mandatory Voter ID, Mandatory Citizenship Certificates, No Mail In Voting Except for Military, Sickness, Disability, Travel! No Men playing in Women's Sports! No to Child Sex Change Surgery!" adding, "This MUST NEVER FAIL!!!"

In another Truth post, President Trump emphasized, "It's not the 'SAVE Act,' it is the 'SAVE AMERICA ACT'! A much better and more important name!!!"

These remarks by President Trump are interpreted as him notifying the Senate, which is blocking the bill, of a deadline for resolution.

As Reuters pointed out, a bill that has passed both houses of Congress automatically becomes law after 10 days if the president takes no action.

The "Save America Act" requires proof of citizenship for voter registration in the November midterm elections and imposes penalties on election officials who register individuals without the necessary documentation.

Democratic leadership is blocking the bill's passage in the Senate through a filibuster, arguing that it is an attempt to suppress votes and undermine their chances of electoral victory at a time when independent analysts predict Democrats are likely to secure a majority in the House.

Within the Republican party, there is a growing call to pass the bill, even if it means changing filibuster rules. The prevailing analysis suggests this is due to increasing concerns about a severe situation developing if they lose their House majority to the Democrats in the midterm elections.
