  • No message to convey to the next Iranian leader

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday (local time) that Iran has been "very completely" disarmed, citing the extent of American military influence on its armament capabilities.

"The war is almost over, for the most part. They don't have navy, they don't have communications, they don't have air force," he told CBS News White House correspondent Weijia Jiang. Jiang reported Trump's remarks, stating, "President Trump said in a phone interview that the war could end soon."

According to Jiang, Trump said that the U.S. is far ahead of schedule, much earlier than the initially estimated four to five weeks.

He added that he believes the operation is progressing ahead of schedule and that he has "no message" for the newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

President Trump initially urged the Iranian people to overthrow the regime, then explored the possibility of an invasion by Iraqi Kurds. Neither approach materialized.

"President Trump said he had someone in mind to replace Khamenei, but did not disclose details," Jiang wrote on X.

As the issue of soaring gasoline prices emerged both domestically and internationally, he shifted his focus to stabilizing oil prices and resuming trade through the Strait of Hormuz.

"Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, President Trump mentioned that ships are currently passing through, but he is 'considering taking control of the strait'," Jiang reported. She added, "President Trump warned Iran, 'They've shot everything they can shoot, and they'd be better off not trying any more weak moves. Otherwise, they will meet the end of their country'."

However, despite the rapid military progress, President Trump stated that the decision on the official end of operations would be made in consultation with Israel, according to The Times of Israel.

In an interview with Israeli media on Monday, President Trump said he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and they seemed to be in agreement. "We'll make a decision at the appropriate time, but we'll consider everything," he said.
